Welcome, this list is called.....
"TechAssist", and is an email list for electronics repair technicians in the field of consumer electronics repair. As of 4-5-02, we have over 900 members and counting in EVERY US state, as well as over 30 other countries across the globe (the language of the list is English).
The goal of TechAssist.....
is to help fellow technicians be more productive in their work. Troubleshooting electronic products can be both time consuming as well as costly! Someone out there may have an answer to your repair problem that will save you time. This email list is intended to save us all time and money. Post your tough electronic repair problems and get TV repair tips, VCR repair tips, or repair tips for whatever your consumer electronics device may be. Whether you need help or you would like to help others, we feel you will benefit from being a part of the TechAssist community.
TechAssist is.....
a group of independent electronic service centers joined together by this email list and the internet. Our group, which includes some of the TOP technicians in North America, is using the internet to help each other by sharing tech tips and information (such as semiconductor datasheets, schematics, etc.). The internet is the only way for independent electronic service
centers to band together. The more members that join together, the more knowledge and power we as a group gain. Why are there only minimal fees for this service? Only for operating expenses and overhead. We make our money by sharing our collective knowledge. We believe in *QUALITY* of membership and do not sign up members with the only requirement being a valid credit card. Many of us have repair tip databases. Some of us have probably repaired what you repair techs are working on right now. Or, maybe you have just fixed something that one of us is struggling to figure out right now. Would you help if you could? You can by joining TechAssist, plus get the help you need!
The repair industry has changed drastically over the last 5 years. By this we mean the price of consumer electronics is as low as it has ever been. Other websites offering tips will lie to you and say the repair industry is at its all time high, so that you will pay a high membership fee for their services. Can you afford to buy a $20.00 schematic for a 13 inch TV? After parts and overhead, you may make $5.00 if the customer will go for $49.95 repair charge! When you join us, you may not have to buy that schematic. Maybe the answer is only one email away!! We want you to join us. Then, and only then, can we fight back against the electronics manufacturers who would most likely like to see us disappear altogether. Joining is a very easy process and you can start enjoying the benefits of membership today. Hopefully, we will be hearing from you soon!!

TechAssist List Features.....
Include fully searchable archives updated daily; member options for 'vacation' status (to temporarily stop receiving emails while you are away for extended periods of time); 'digest' version (to receive only one large email per day), plus many more. Also for our members' protection against computer viruses & worms, we are happy to say the list server is configured to automatically strip all attachments, as well as convert the potentially dangerous HTML formatted email to plain text.
Currently, there are anywhere from 50-150+ emails posted per day. This decreases on the weekends of course. Please do not join unless you are prepared to receive this many emails; or after you join your account can be set to the "digest" mode where you will receive one large email per day if you so choose.
