AVI SCREEN CAPTURE, CAPTURE SCREENSHOTS IN VIDEO - AviScreen is an application for capturing screen activity in the form of AVI video (or still images). Beside the usual options defining the capture area, AviScreen has a unique feature called "follow the cursor". Using this mode you can produce a video or image of relatively small dimensions while covering all mouse activity over the whole screen area. (Version 1.3, only 668k).
BACKUP OUTLOOK EXPRESS-With Express Assist. Express Assist makes it easy to create a backup of your Mail folders from Microsoft Outlook Express. It's simple to use and includes excellent documentation. A handy wizard interface allows you to select your Inbox, Outbox, Address Book, Internet Explorer Favorites, and more -- as well as a destination folder. You have the option to overwrite previous backups or retain multiple copies. The backup is compressed into a single .zip file. You can easily restore the backup and use Express Assist to transfer your Outlook Express files to another PC. You can also use Express Assist to synchronize your mail folders with either a backup copy or the folders on another PC. This program times out after 15 days, it is $29 to order from the software creator.
FIND AND REPLACE By RELEVANCE - Find And Replace is a program as the name implies, that will search for any word or phrase, or block of text, etc. in any number of files, and replace that with what you choose. You can search one single file, or entire folders. The company disappeared long ago, so we're making it available for download. Some text from the now gone Find And Replace information webpage: "Find and Replace can be an indispensable tool for WebMasters and other IT Professionals. Whenever you have a situation where you have many ACSII files that contain a certain string of text that needs to be changed from one thing to another the Find and Replace utility can save hours, and sometimes, even days of by-hand work. Instead of editing each file one by one, use Find and Replace to do the editing for you. Simply enter the word or phrase you want to find and the word or phrase that you want to replace it with. Press the button and sit back while Find and Replace updates all the selected files with your new text string. In a matter of a few seconds all those files will be updated!" Obviously there is no support on this, so it's something you may have to figure out and experiment with yourself. BE SURE you always make a backup of what you're changing until you get the hang of it. A copy of the original webpage is also included in the zipped file, 943k. MuvEnum XP SP3 REPLACEMENT TASKBAR ADDRESS BAR - Many of you using SP3 on XP that regularly used the indispensable address bar option located on the Taskbar, have no doubt realized that it is now GONE in SP3! Thanks to John, the MuvEnum Address Bar puts back what the people from Microsoft ripped-off from us! The program has been updated regularly, so we've linked to the Blog for the download.
PRINTKEY 2000-A small program that when you execute it, an icon appears in the system tray. Hitting the 'print screen' button on your keyboard opens a screen where you can then save in various formats, control color, contrast, brightness, size, and other attributes. Properties can be change for the program by right clicking the icon in the system tray and selecting 'properties'. 400k.
WINZIP - Some of the programs available for download here (and most places on the net) need this program for 'unzipping' after download. WinZip is a straightforward, fast, and easy-to-use zipping and unzipping utility that includes built-in support for popular Internet file formats such as TAR, ZIP, UUencode, XXencode, BinHex, MIME, and Unix-compressed files. Older ARC, ARJ, and LZH files are supported via external programs. Windows 95 and later.
